Kyle's 15 month check up

Kyle had his 15 month check up today and here are his latest stats...weight: 21 lbs, 2 oz (5-10%), height: 31.5 inches (50%), and head circumference 41 cm (25%).  What these stats mean is that my little munchkin is a scrawny, little string bean!  Kyle is a ball of energy and has developed quite the little temper lately.  He runs around everywhere and climbs on everything.  Yesterday I found him taking a bite out of a mango that was on top of the kitchen table!  He still loves playing with Dylan and is usually happiest when they are wrestling.  He loves to watch Dylan play golf and just goes crazy clapping and screaming when Dylan hits the ball.  His favorite foods are still french fries, asparagus, and ALL fruit.  He just started getting into books and loves when you read to him.  He is talking much more and now will repeat words.  Dylan is a fantastic big brother.  When Kyle hits him or yes, bites him, Dylan will just look at him and say, "no, Kyle, that is not nice!"  He will even attempt to put him in time out, which is funny, especially since Kyle usually will stay until told to get up.  I thank God every day for blessing me with the most amazing boys!  As Dylan would so eloquently say, I love them "way, way more than you know!"
Here are a few photos of my precious duo...

Enjoying one of his favorite treats...fruit snacks!

I just love this picture of Dylan and his best friend/cousin, Jack, walking together!

These are the matching Chinese pajamas Aaron brought back for the boys when he went to NY.  They looked so funny!

Kyle turned one!

I am in total denial that my precious, little angel turned one on April 18th!  Kyle is truly one of the sweetest, funniest, happiest babies I have ever seen.  He is still a little peanut, weighing 19 pounds, 11 ounces (10%), and measuring 33 inches long (50%).  He loves to eat avocado, french fries, asparagus, and ANY fruit (he has a major sweet tooth!).  Kyle just started walking.  He will take like 5-10 steps and then stop.  He still prefers to crawl when he's in a hurry, but is gaining more and more confidence everyday.  His absolute favorite thing to do is play with his brother!  Kyle lights up every time he hears or sees Dylan (it just melts my heart).  Dylan still calls Kyle "his" baby and is very protective of him.  Kyle also loves the water; whether it's a bath or  a pool he loves to "swim."  Kyle can say "mama," "dada," "Di-di" (Dylan), "nigh, nigh" (night-night), "bye-bye," and "awa" (Spanish for water).  He loves to give hugs and kisses, wrestle with Dylan, wave, clap and dance.  I'm amazed at how well he can hold his own.  Dylan can be rough sometimes and Kyle just loves it.  I have a feeling I am going to be in for it in a few years!  I cannot imagine what my life was like before this angel entered my heart.  I am truly blessed to have two amazing, smart, loving, healthy boys.  Aaron and I are constantly looking at each other and just smiling.

Here are a couple pics of Kyle and his birthday celebrations in Inverness and Miami...

I love making homemade birthday cakes and here's Kyle's
Kyle staring down his birthday cake (He got one lick of frosting and was hooked!)
"I cannot believe they are letting me do this!"
"How can I get this whole cake in my mouth?!"
Yeah!!!
My absolute favorite picture.  This is his Miami birthday BBQ!

What else can I say...I just adore this little guy!

Yes, it's been a while!

I know, I know, I haven't posted in a very long time.  We have been very busy around here lately.  Here's what's been going on...

The boys and I had a great visit with some dear family and friends in North Carolina.  It was my first road trip with both the boys by myself and we did great.  Here are some pics of our visit with the Perez girls...

Maggie and Kyle checking each other out...too cute!

They were so sweet together!

A couple weeks after our NC trip was our much anticipated trip to Ireland, without the boys!  Let's just say I was so nervous about traveling overseas, without my angels.  I had a couple minor panic attacks but knew they were in great hands!  My mom, who is by far the bravest, sweetest grandmother ever, took care of Dylan (3), Kyle (11 months) & Jack, Dylan's cousin (4)!  She did fantastic and the boys couldn't have been happier.  Aaron and I had a fabulous time and drank and ate way too much!

We returned on Holy Thursday, just in time to get the kids into the Easter spirit!  We dyed Easter eggs, had an egg hunt and enjoyed searching for our Easter baskets!  We had a great Easter with my parents and dear friends that we had not seen in a very long time.  Here are some pics of the boys during Easter weekend....

Next on our agenda is heading south for a double family wedding!  We are very excited to see our families and celebrate.  Most importantly my little peanut is turning one in a couple of weeks!  I can hardly believe it!

What's going on...

What happened to my little baby boy???  He used to be the smallest, sweetest little munchkin and now he is getting so big and going nonstop!  This little guy has been crawling since he turned 7 months old and is so close to walking!  Yes, you read that correctly, he turns 9 months old on the 18th and pulls himself up everywhere and will even stand on his own for a couple seconds.  I know that second children usually do this much quicker than your first, but this is a little too much.  I'm not ready for this sweet, angel to get bigger yet!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...even if it's a little late!!!

What a truly beautiful Christmas we had!  We had family come in and some stayed with us through the new year.  The boys had a great Christmas and Dylan even stayed up to bang pots and pans on New Years Eve (Hume tradition)!

This past year was such an amazing year for us...we welcomed our little smiley sunshine, Kyle into this world in April, we celebrated Aaron's grandmother's 90th birthday, celebrated Kristen, Rebecca & Erin's wedding, our 6th wedding anniversary, Linda's 60th and so much more.  We look forward to what 2010 may have in store for us!

I'll post pics soon...

What's new with the Humes

I know that I have not posted since Kyle was born, which is a definite slacking on my behalf, but I decided that I needed to start again.  Here's a brief highlight of what's been going on over the past few months...

Dylan started school and has been loving it!  (The truth is that I love it even more!!!)  He's adjusted so well to the whole process.  Dylan turned 3 in November and Aaron and I feel like he just grew overnight!  His 3 year stats are as follows:  50% weight and 90% for height.  He still LOVES sports and playing with his uncle Ryan.  He got a skateboard for his birthday (yes, a real one) and is actually pretty good at it.  The child truly has no fear, which scares me to death.  Dylan is the sweetest big brother, and says all the time he can't wait for Kyle to get bigger so that he can play with him.  I can't wait either :)  Dylan's Santa list is as follows:  a black pick up truck like Daddy's, golf clubs,  a computer that he can use for work, and a mailbox so that he can get his own mail.  (Does this list not show how much he ADORES his father!)  Here are a few pics of Dylan taken over the past couple of months...

Dylan on his way to his first day of school!

Cheering for Uncle Ryan at his high school football games!  This was the cutest thing in the world.  Dylan would cheer "Go Uncle Ryan" to anyone with the football!

As for Kyle, he is definitely mommy's boy!  I'm not sure if it is the second child syndrome or what, but he just melts my heart.  Kyle is very small for his age, but has done everything developmentally sooner than Dylan did.  He weighs about 15 1/2 lbs and just turned 8 months old.  He started crawling at 7 months and started saying "ma-ma" deliberately now for the last couple of weeks.  He loves his walker and chasing Dylan around the house.  The baby is nonstop!  Kyle lights up every time he sees his big brother.  He has the sweetest personality and smiles at anyone who pays attention to him.  Here are a few pics of my little munchkin taken over the past couple of months...

Waiting patiently for Santa!

As for Aaron and I we have traveled A LOT over the past couple of months going to several weddings, grandma's big 60th birthday, and squeezing in some vacation time.  We are super excited to host Christmas this year and can't wait to have a packed house for Santa!

It's about time!

I FINALLY got a computer!!! About 6 months ago Aaron's computer crashed so he "borrowed" mine. Needless-to-say, I haven't been on the computer much. Anyways, I will post soon letting everyone know what we have been up to and how the boys are doing!
