Cruise Anxiety

Aaron and I leave for our 5 day cruise on Monday and we are both experiencing a little anxiety about leaving Dylan for so long. We all fly to Miami on Saturday, and leave with Lauren and Jean Paul (Aaron's sister and brother-in-law) to Belize, Cozumel, and Key West on Monday. My parents are driving from North Carolina to Miami in order to take care of Dylan for us. That way they get a little vacation out of it as well, and visit with family. Aaron's mom is taking care of Jack, Lauren and Jean Paul's son, for the week. We are all very excited about a much needed vacation, but I am having minor panic attacks about being in the middle of the ocean, away from Dylan for 5 days! We know that Grammy and Papaw are going to take GREAT care of him while we are gone, but I have NEVER left him overnight, and for 5 days, I am definitely freaking out! Anyways, I hope to let everyone know how our trip goes and how Dylan does without us!

How can you not miss that little face?!!!

Daddy the Barber

So Aaron and I decided that Dylan was ready for his first haircut, or should I say trim. Dylan hasn't been the most blessed in the hair department, but his hair was starting to resemble Donald Trump so we decided to cut it. I told Aaron that I would take Dylan to a little kids cut place, you know the one where people know what they are doing and actually do it for a living, but Aaron insisted that he was perfectly qualified for the job. It started out where Aaron wanted to just use a comb and scissors and was under the impression that our little nugget would just sit in his high chair, perfectly still and let Daddy do his thing, well Dylan was not quite on the same page. The minute Dylan saw the scissors, he was like you are NOT using those on me! It was hilarious! Kristen (Aaron's sister) and I just sat there and laughed, but Aaron was determined. We had a brilliant idea, just give Dylan a lollipop and let him watch TV and he will sit still enough for Aaron to do his thing. Poor Dylan has been a deprived child, he has never eaten any kind of candy, that is until it was time for a haircut! Let's just say there was no taking that lollipop away from him. Check out the pictures of Aaron attempting to cut Dylan's hair while he holds on to "lolly" for dear life!
"Ok, this isn't so bad!"

"Yummy!"

By the way the haircut continued the next day in the back yard with a ball and jelly beans! Daddy had a few "touch-ups" to do on his materpiece! And finally, our little angel's "trim" was complete!

Oh No He Didn't!!!

I wake up this morning to the beautiful sound of my angel talking to himself in his crib at 8:45am! (Yes, he slept from 8 pm until 8:45 am!!!) So I routinely go to the restroom and then go into Dylan's room to greet him lovingly. He smiles at me and then all of a sudden starts jumping and screaming "Dad, Dad, Dad." I turn around and see Aaron enter the room right behind me. What??? I nursed this little one for a year, take care of him every day for 15 and 1/2 months, and he goes crazy when he sees Daddy?!!! This can't be. So I try not to let it bother me, until Aaron picks him up and starts to change his diaper and says to me, "here take over, I'm going to make coffee." All of a sudden Dylan starts crying and yelling "Dad, Dad, Dad." Aaron then begins to feel really sorry for me and says something like, "be nice to Mommy." Like that helps. Anyways, Dylan calms down and I get him dressed for the day. We proceed downstairs and Dylan jumps down from my arms and goes running to Aaron like he hasn't seen him in days hugging his leg and saying "Dad, Dad."

Ok, so why am I sharing my heartbreak with everyone you might ask, because I want everyone to feel sorry for me!
